Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for senior quantity surveyors to join our growing team. You will be working alongside our clients who represent the top tier of the construction sector based in the north of England including Lancashire, Yorkshire and North East . You will report in the company Commercial Director along with the clients Commercial Manager and the Project management team. You need to be a motivated and driven individual who will be able to integrate into the main contractor’s team .

The following reflect the main tasks associated with your position and are not intended to be exclusive or exhaustive:

  • Provide commercial links between Site Agents Project Managers and Commercial Managers
  • To ensure commercial security and control of contracts under tender and throughout the project including execution and delivery
  • External liaison with suppliers and customers regarding project progress and contractual issues
  • Production of commercial reports at intervals to be advised.
  • Risk analysis and control
  • Awareness of the estimating process and budget control
  • To undertake any other reasonable duties a required

Essential Criteria:

  • Qualification in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
  • At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role preferably within a Civil Engineering Company
  • Commercially aware of economies and efficiencies
  • Experience in cost reporting and procurement
  • Ability to work independently or effectively within a team
  • Management of multiple Contracts and Subcontractors, ensuring company compliance with all necessary statutory obligations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Flexible regarding travel. You will be required on site Monday to Friday based in the area .
  • Right to work in the UK and able to demonstrate this
  • IT literate in all Microsoft Office applications and experience with Asta Power Project and Bluebeam (PDF Editor) or similar preferable.
